In the Name of God, Amen.

I Charlotte Luther of the City of Bath, Widow being weak of body but of sound mind and memory, blessed be God, do make this my last Will and Testament.

I desire that all my just debts may be paid as soon as possible after my decease.

I give to my dear Son John Luther, Esquire all the household furniture which shall be in my House at my decease except Towells, Plate, China, Pictures, Books, Houesehold Linnen, Wearing Apparel, Spinnet Organ, Cabinet and Table Cloth.

I give to Nurse Shopton twelve pounds a year for her natural life.

I give to Mrs. Batterbury six pounds for her natural life.

I give to my servant Mrs. Russel, six pounds a year for her natural life.

I give twenty pounds to my Executrixes in Trust to place out as Apprentice the only son of my coachman John when he shall be fifteen years old.

I give to my waiting woman Mary Adams twenty pounds and to each of my other servants who shall live with me at my death one year’s wages.

And all the rest and residue of my Estate and Effects Real and personal of which I shall die seized or possessed or be entitled unto I give, devise and bequeath the same one half to me dear daughter Jane Luther, her heirs and assigns forever and the other half to my dear daughter Rebecca Taylor, wife of John Taylor, Esquire and her heirs and assigns forever.

And I appoint my said daughters Jane and Rebecca Executrixes of this my last Will and Testament and hereby revoking all former Wills by me made I do hereby declare this to be my last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifth day of December in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy five.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the above Charlotte Luther as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us.

This Will was proved at London the fourteenth day of May in the Year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy eight, before The Right Worshipful Sir George Wright, Doctor of Laws, Quartermaster, Keeper and Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted, by the oath of Rebecca Taylor, wife of John Taylor, Esquire, the daughter of the deceased and one of the Executrixes named in the said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular the Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said deceased, having been first sworn by Commission duly to administer power____ of making the like grant to Jane Luther, Spinster, the daughter also of the said deceased and the other Executrix named in the said Will when she shall apply for the same.
