This 8 day of June in the year 1726 I John Sutton of Winterbourne Gunner in the County of Wilts being very Sick but in Good Sense and Memory do Make and ordain this to Be My Last Will and Testament in Manner and for following
John Sutton was the son of John and Jane Sutton. He was baptised on 13th April 1691 at Winterbourne Gunner.
I Joshua Andrews of the parish of Winterborn Dantsey in the County of Wilts Husbandman being weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to Almighty God for it, and calling to mind the uncertainty of this transatory life
John Sutton was the son of John and Mary Sutton. He was baptised on 10th July 1723 at Winterbourne Gunner
I haven't been able to find a baptism record for John, but according to his burial record, he would have been born in about 1748. By 1771, he was living in Salisbury, as the Banns for his marriage on the 29th June 1771 to Mary Joles was read in the Parish of St Martin with St Mary Magdalene, where he is listed as "of this parish". Mary was from Winterbourne Earls, where they were married and where they settled.
I believe that William Hanks was tha father of Thomas Hanks my 4th great grandfather. I do not have any definitive evidence for this claim but I am fairly confident based a few pieces of information that lead me to this conclusion.
Although I have no record of his birth, based upon his death certificate and burial entry Thomas Hanks was born about 1766. Thomas was the father of Mary Hanks my 3rd great-grandmother who married Francis Fane Taylor.
Hugh Connick was the father of Mary Connick who married John Stratton my 6th great grandfather. I have not found out much about Hugh Connick, but he did leave a will, where he left the Malthouse later called The Strattons to his grandson Hugh Stratton who leased it to my 4th great granduncle Robert Nurse. Robert's nephew, my 3rd great grandfather married Sarah Couch who was Hugh's great-great granddaughter.
John Stratton was the father of Mary Stratton, my fifth great grandmother who married John Jefferis Couch in 1740. I have not been able to find out a lot about the Strattons. It appears that they were a non-conformist family, and there is not as good coverage of non-conformist records on Ancestry.com.
To all people to whom these presented shall come I Hugh Connick of Hanham do send Greetings.
