John Couch, my my 3rd great grandmother Salley Couch's older brother was born in Hanham, to Jonathan and Betty Couch and baptised at Hanham Abbots church on 8th January 1775


Dinah Cool, Samuel Leonard’s wife, was the daughter of Robert Cool. I believe Robert was born in Yate to Robert and Joan Cole, and moved to the Hanham area as an adult.


Samuel Leonard the Elder's father was also Samuel. I have not been able to find out much about this Samuel, other than the baptisms of some of his children.


Samuel Leonard (the Elder) was born to yet another Samuel Leonard in 1699/1700 and baptised at St George, Hanham on 3^rd^ March that year. He married Dinah Cool the daughter of Robert Cool of Oldland on 23^rd^ December 1725 at Bitton.


Samuel Leonard was born about 1740 to Samuel Leonard and his wife Dinah Cool. While I have been able to find out quite a lot about Samuel Leonard the Elder, I haven't been able to find as much about the son.
