I believe that William Hanks was tha father of Thomas Hanks my 4^th great grandfather. I do not have any definitive evidence for this claim but I am fairly confident based a few pieces of information that lead me to this conclusion.

Although I have no record of his birth, based upon his death certificate and burial entry Thomas Hanks was born about 1766. Thomas was the father of Mary Hanks my 3^rd great-grandmother who married Francis Fane Taylor.

I William Hanks Sen of Hartly in the Parish of Bradford in the County of Wilts Labourer being in Health and of Sound Mind Memory and Understanding do make this my last will and Testament as Follows (that is to say)
